Job Description:

Under the strategic direction of the Director, Materials Management, the PSM Manager of Materials Management manages and coordinates all activities and staff related to procurement and supply services for CTCA CCRCs including but not limited to receiving, distribution, inventory control, equipment management. Ensures CCRC compliance to national and local policies regarding internal controls for procurement, contracting, sourcing, vendor management and utilization of enterprise resources. This is a CTCA shared services role; scope of this role would cross multiple CTCA sites as needed to support enterprise PSM initiatives and or operations.   

Job Responsibilities

20%| Organizes and utilizes enterprise resources to assure Materials Management operations are supporting the mission, financial, and operational needs of the enterprise.  Assures adequate staffing matrix to support daily CCRC operations.


Develops and leads CCRC inventory/demand management strategies: 

Effective deployment of PAR methodology

Develops and implements inventory/demand management strategies for high spend/utilization departments (i.e. Surgery, Imaging, Pharmacy, Lab, etc.).

Assures CCRC requisitioning processes and policies are adhered to in alignment with CTCA finance and procurement policies.

Perform regular cycle counts

Facilitate annual CCRC physical inventory activities. 


Assures effective management and administration of MMIS (Lawson) modules.

Efficient use of Lawson processing jobs and reports

Assures CCRC end users have appropriate training on use of applicable modules. 


Assist in development of enterprise and local PSM strategies/initiatives for quality, operational and cost improvement. Effectively implements PSM strategies at the CCRC level. 

Assures products and services are selected in alignment with enterprise strategies (i.e. contracts, sourcing channels, etc.).


Serves as PSM Corporate liaison to RMC leadership by: 

Serving as CCRC Value Analysis leader

Local management of vendor relationships and performance.

MM/PSM representative on hospital committees (i.e. safety, leadership, etc.).

PSM liaison for corporate capabilities (i.e. corporate procurement, contract management, etc.).

Communicates to CCRC stakeholders PSM initiatives and operational objectives. 

Skills, Education and Additional Information ?

  • Five (5) years or more hospital of progressive healthcare Materials Management operational leadership experience required, preferably in a multi-hospital health system environment.  BS/BA in Business, Finance or related field preferred.  Working knowledge of procure to pay cycle.  Knowledge of GPO services and contracts.  Strong working knowledge of inventory/demand management best practices preferred.

  • 3-5 years’ experience with Materials Management Information systems, preferably Lawson. 3-5 years’ experience in Pyxis supply systems. Strong skills set in excel and/or other Microsoft Applications used to perform analysis. 

  • Stakeholder will be responsible and accountable for the communication pertinent to hospital and/or CTCA Supply Chain initiatives.  Decision making to include, but not limited to: Supply Chain related policies, logistics and process flow development
