Job Description:

Manager, Corporate Strategy

The Manager, Corporate Strategy reports to the Chief Strategy Officer and is responsible for the development of strategic plans and execution planning across the enterprise.  The Manager role reviews organizational initiatives and determines strengths, weaknesses, operational effectiveness and opportunities. The Manager then makes recommendations based on internal and external factors to minimize risks and formulate plans to achieve an organization's long-term goals. The Manager also supports the strategy, analysis and operations across major cross-functional priorities.  The Program Manager will often work independently but under the guidance of the CSO in assisting various leaders in the organization in strategic development and action planning.     

  • Manages all aspects of CTCA Strategic Planning, including meetings, interviews, analysis and report generation
  • Work with the Chief Strategy Officer on specific projects, providing regular initiative status updates and tracking issue progress. Plays a proactive role in identification and prioritization or projects.
  • Act as a facilitator in meetings.
  • Communicate with and accurately assess substantive issues with on-going initiatives and initiative leaders at direction of the Chef Strategy Officer, and exert appropriate influence tactics consistent with strategic direction to drive initiatives forward.
  • Owns and executes special ad hoc projects end-to-end from planning and project management to measuring results and recommending next steps.
  • Provides solutions to complex business problems for area(s) of responsibility where analysis of situations requires an in-depth knowledge of organizational objectives.
  • Involved in setting strategic direction to establish near term goals for area of responsibility.
  • Has latitude in decision-making and determining objectives and approaches to critical assignments.
  • Manages large teams and/or work efforts.
  • Maintains heavy communication on behalf of the Chief Strategy Officer with key constituents, including leaders, stakeholders, team members and board members. 

Must Have Experience and Capabilities

  • Demonstrated experience working closely with senior leaders on multiple, day-to-day aspects of the business in a project support role spanning strategic planning, leadership team coordination and follow-up and managing cross-functional initiatives.
  • Strong project management skills with understanding of project management methodologies and ability to use the latest project management tools to help the team get work done.
  • Deep understanding of quantitative analysis to determine effective options for strategic pursuit and using analytics to drive decisions, solve problems and optimize both customer-facing and back-end business processes.
  • Proven track record of managing sensitive and highly confidential information and providing substantive support to drive outputs
  • Ability to rapidly absorb and synthesize written and oral information to form an accurate understanding of context and issues across a range of strategic, operational and organizational issues. 
  • Knack for taking high-level direction and thinking through both the substance and the supporting processes required to operationalize ideas.
  • Demonstrated facility collaborating with leaders across the enterprise to prepare, edit and finalize presentations.
  • Proven track record of building and nurturing relationships with senior executives.
  • High energy leader, with a strong orientation for on-going coaching, continuous improvement and constructive criticism who thrives in a high-pressure, high stakes work environment.
  • Strong track record of partnering with upstream and downstream operations to align project requirements, timelines and deliverables.

Key Qualifications

  • "Can do" attitude; high energy and goal-oriented.
  • Demonstrated record of accomplishment with a minimum of five years of experience in a similar role in healthcare.
  • Able to work independently on strategy development when required.
  • Deep understanding of healthcare finance.
  • Minimum of five years’ experience using data and analytics to solve problems and guide decisions.
  • Proficient with MS Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Tableau and Visio.
  • Highly developed verbal, written, quantitative analysis, project management and communications skills.
  • Bachelor’s Degree is required.  Master’s Degree (MBA, MHA) strongly preferred.
