Position Overview

Radiology professional who assumes responsibility and accountability in the administration of C.T. examinations.  CT technologists utilize computerized tomography (CT) scanners to produce cross-section images of patients for diagnosis. Provides care to the patients via positioning into C.T. scanner and operates computer to acquire images.  Performs complex specialized tasks associated with the operation of CT scanners and related equipment in accordance with prescribed radiation safety procedures. Position patients for CT scans using immobilization and protective equipment as necessary.  Provides on-call CT scans as required.  Maintains current licensure/certification within timeframes established by regulatory agency( ARRT), i.e., maintains proficiency in IV access.  CT Certified.  CPR Certified.


Key Position Qualifications

  • CT Certification Required
  • Graduate of an approved school of Radiologic Technology
  • A.R.R.T. registered with minimum of one year experience performing diagnostic CT scans and CT guided biopsies
  • Strong communication and patient care skills.  Must have excellent knowledge of all aspects of CT imaging and radiation safety.
  • Makes recommendations for process changes.
  • Contacts service vendors for preventive maintenance or repairs.
  • Utilizes knowledge and skills to provide quality and timely service.
