Job Description:

The Analyst role is a full-time professional position that works with senior management to support strategic initiatives by providing actionable recommendations based on assessments of existing and potential markets and competitors. The analyst will work with Manager, Market intelligence to identify and collect appropriate customer, competitor, market, economic, financial and/or operational data.

Requires performing financial, statistical, and qualitative data analyses of markets and competitors. Strong Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and SQL capabilities required. Basic expectations for a strong candidate include ability to translate health data into executable and effective reports, and professionalism will be required when working with senior leadership.

Job Responsibilities

Quantitative and Qualitative Analyses

  • Analyzes healthcare data sets (e.g., healthcare claims data, financial data, proprietary health data) using Microsoft Excel or SQL to profile oncology market and competitive environment
  • Identifies key data points that will support insights or recommendations to senior leadership for strategic decision-making
  • Collaborates with team members to fully understand implications of analyses for the project
  • Engages other departments as necessary to align relevant business intelligence with market opportunity assessment
  • Completes research (e.g., competitor & market research, policy research) using available data tools, web search, industry news and white papers to create comprehensive market intelligence
  • Supports other ad-hoc requests from core businesses, as necessary
  • Maintains an in-depth knowledge of designated markets and trends through reading reports, market research, data manipulation and financial modeling and analysis

Presentation Development and Delivery

  • Synthesizes analyses into market intelligence reports that will drive informed decision-making
  • Produces high-quality analyses and reviews outputs and reports with other team members
  • Works with Manager, Market Intelligence to ensure timeliness of reports and other deliverables

Data and tool innovation

  • Exhibits "ownership" mindset of work, constantly seeking ways to improve sources, processes, and delivery of market intelligence

Skills, Education and Additional Information

  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree in business or related field; graduate degree desirable.
  • Requires 0-2 years of experience; healthcare-related experience preferred.
  • Position is open to candidates seeking career after graduation but must have minimum of 1 relevant internship experience.
  • Knowledge of healthcare practices, concepts, and policies desirable.
  • Demonstrates strength in problem-solving and analytics and capable of driving insight to action with high-level competency with Microsoft Office suite (Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Able to articulate with strong presentation skills and contribute to executive-level discourse; possesses excellent written communication abilities.
  • Demonstrate both analytical and relationship driven skills, as this person will be working on highly complex projects at the highest levels of the organization.
  • Experience working with complex data sets across claims, lab, financial, clinical outcomes and other groups.
  • Strategic and process-oriented mindset, facilitating detailed and insightful problem-solving sessions.
  • Able to operate within a team environment.
  • Experience in writing SQL queries preferred.
  • Experience with using Tableau, Qlikview, or similar software preferred.
