The primary purpose of this role is to serve as an Ambassador for CTCA and to execute strategies to increase referral business from targeted medical professionals in designated market areas. This role will focus primarily on building business from potential referring physicians and other healthcare professionals with direct influence on patient care decisions. Additionally, this role is designed to develop and nurture relationships with external physicians to extend the superior patient service CTCA currently provides to those external/referring physicians. The Physician Relations Market Manager is the direct link between the clinical professionals in their respective Territory and the operations of the hospital. The position requires innovation to implement strategy and process flow, as well as implement relationship management and operational best practices. This Physician Relations Market Manager will be responsible for the New York region as defined by Eastern Regional Medical Centar (ERMC), including, but not limited to New York City metro area, New York State, northern New Jersey and Wilkes Barre Scranton. The Physician Relations Market Manager will be expected to live in the Territory with regular travel to ERMC for team meetings.
The Physician Relations Market Manager is accountable for developing and implementing a strategy for delivering patient referral business from the medical community including primary care physicians, osteopathic doctors, medical oncologists, nurses and other medical professionals with a direct influence on patients care decisions , as well as stakeholders and business leaders in the respective Territory. Relationships will be built by conducting effective office visits, presentations, attending conferences, and facilitating hospital tours to identify and support referral needs and expectations and by educating referring and new physician partners on services offered at CTCA. Additionally, the Physician Relations Market Manager will partner with the Medical Education Manager to develop and host appropriate CME and other educational opportunities as needed.
The Physician Relations Market Manager will be responsible for appropriate messaging and positioning of CTCA to each prospective referral group, including content appropriate branded materials Excellent relationship building, communication, presentation, and customer service skills are required.
Key Position Qualifications
- Minimum of a BS/BA in Marketing, Business, Public Relations or a related field.
- Must have a minimum of 5 years of relevant Marketing and/or Healthcare experience
- 2 to 3 years of experience working with medical professionals and/or clinical experience preferred
- Clinical and/or sales background desired
- Experience with a high quality consumer brand
- Experience with budgeting, reporting, and analysis with a strong background with Microsoft Excel
- Proven track record of successful relationship building and nurturing
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and team building capability
- Ability to manage multiple tasks/relationships at once
