OVERVIEW

The Cardiac Ultrasonographer is a professional diagnostician who works closely with physicians, nurses, cardiology and pulmonary physicians to accurately diagnose medical disordersand perform cardiac ultrasound procedures utilizing current technologies as well as performing EKG's. We are currently recruiting for Per Diem working 8 or 12-hour shifts with some weekday and weekend call requirements. Likely shifts include 8:00am-4:30pm, 7:00am-3:30pm and 7:00am-7:30pm.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for independent operation of sonographic equipment. Performing and completingstudies of cardiac ultrasound. Can take verbal and written orders (EMR) for ultrasound. Also, performs all EKG's. Is able to transmit or present test results to physician. Maintains backup system for all patients. Maintains service logs for ultrasound equipment. Participates in file maintenance, includingretrieving and filing folders and report distribution. Participates in review of ultrasound billing codes for accuracy. Participates in review and revision of policies and procedures relevant to ultrasound.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Graduate of an approved school of medical ultrasonography.
  • Credentials in ultrasound with the ARDMS-American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers; or CCI-Cardiac Credentialing International, Required.
  • At least three years clinical experience in medical ultrasonography.
  • Current BLS/CPR required.
  • Ability to perform EKG's required.
